Achilles Training
- Espen Magnussen |

The Achilles Training Course provides a comprehensive overview of the Achilles Robot System, focusing on safe and efficient operation, system components, and handling procedures. The course is designed to ensure participants gain both theoretical knowledge, through e-learning, and practical experience with the system from operating the robot system at our workshop in Koppholen 20.
Course Information
Achilles Training Objectives
The primary objectives of the Achilles Training are:
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Understanding the key safety protocols and environmental considerations.
- System Components & Layout: Learning the components and layout of the Achilles Robot System.
- Control Systems: Familiarity with wireless controls and system interfaces.
- Tooling and Setup: Mastering tooling options and the setup procedures for operation.
- Step-by-Step Operation: Gaining practical knowledge on how to operate the robot, including tool use during deployment and recovery.
Achilles Theory
The e-learning module offers theoretical training on the Achilles Robot System. It covers essential topics such as:
- HSE Requirements: Safety guidelines for the Achilles system.
- Achilles System Components: Key mechanical and electrical components.
- Handling Procedures: Techniques for safe launch, recovery, and handling.
- Operational Tools and Procedures: Understanding the tools, systems, and procedures required for operation.
Achilles Practical Operation (Workshop)
Achilles Practical Operation (Workshop)
The practical part, held in Remotions workshop in Koppholen 20, provides hands-on training in operating the Achilles Robot System. Participants will engage in tasks such as:
- Robot Handling: Physical handling and safety procedures.
- Operational Checks: Pre- and post-deployment procedures, including vehicle, habitat, and tool checks.
- Tooling Techniques: Using various tools like Ultra High Pressure (UHP) washing and grit blasting.
- Maintenance & Shipment: Understanding packing, maintenance, and transport requirements for the system.
